After serving as an associate in an office in Iowa City for over a year, I discovered Integrative Diagnosis – the most advanced, conservative-care diagnosis and treatment system.

I was frustrated by the process of a typical chiropractic office.  Adjust the patient and let them go. If they don’t get better, tell them they need to be stretching more, doing more exercise, or purchasing hundreds of dollars of supplements.  Sound familiar?

The problem I had with traditional chiropractic offices was that there is never a real established diagnosis. Therefore patients would routinely return to the office for temporary relief.  Stumbling upon the Integrative Diagnosis system I found what I was looking for. A system that provides advanced diagnosis and the best way to treat each patient. It does not blend with a traditional chiropractic office, which led me to open Thrive Care in July of 2013.

I am very proud to currently be 1 of 4 Integrative Diagnosis instructors in the world!  Being considered one of the best in my field is an extreme honor.  I am grateful to be able to share my knowledge with other providers around the world and help their patients find relief they are looking for.  I am excited to come to the office each day to help our patients find relief from chronic pain and to help those who have been failed by the traditional model of conservative care.

My wife, Amber, and I were married in September of 2011 and we have 2 kids, Brecken and Brixley.  We enjoy living in Marion and spending our time in Corridor.

In my spare time I enjoy spending my time with family and friends, reading and studying (I’m a nerd), and watching Hawkeye sports.

Thank you for checking out our website and office!  If you are currently struggling with neck, back, or any other kind of chronic pain we hope to see you in our office soon!

Check out our list of conditions we treat to see how our team can help you find relief from your pain.

“It is important to me that patients walk out of our door with a clear understanding of their condition. That means that patients understand exactly what is going on, why it happened, and how their problem is going to be fixed. Patients deserve better care than what they have come to expect, and that is what we deliver in our office!” – Cody Scharf, DC

Growing up in Fort Dodge, IA, I received my high-school diploma from Fort Dodge Senior High in 2008. I  went on to earn my Bachelor’s Degree in Health Science from the University of Iowa in 2011 and graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 2015.

Prior to graduation, I was selected to be a Chiropractic Teaching Assistant in the Palmer Academic Health Center.

I am excited to share my passion in our office to ensure patients get exactly what they need. Patients deserve to have the cause of their pain identified and treated correctly where others have failed to do so. I am passionate and dedicated to improving lives, optimizing performance, and helping patients get back to activities they love — pain-free.

Outside the clinic, I enjoy being outdoors, playing sports, weight lifting, and spending time with my wife, Anna, and our dog, Atlas.
